Why - in the 21st century -
do the Mandinka remain
a people unreached by the Gospel?

07 Dec 2007

Because...

...they live on the western edge of the Atlantic ocean,
on the continent of Africa,
a place far from
MacDonald's, Wal-Mart,
and Dairy Queen!

...paved roads to MNK towns
often look more like potholes surrounded by bits of asphalt than pavement!

...MNK areas  remain isolated by natural barriers, such as rivers traversable  only by ferry or small boat.

...they live off the "paved" road,
on dirt paths normally traveled only by
bicycles,
donkey carts,
and feet,
far from air-conditioned
five star hotels.

...from childhood,
they have been taught to live in fear of unseen spirits,
believing in the power of amulets
to protect them from evil and harm.
These amulets are worn by men, women and children.

...they have not heard the truth
of God's love.

Pray for someone to walk with this man,
to explain to him that God loves him,
and how to know God in a personal way.

As they walked along, "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets
Jesus explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures
concerning himself."
Luke 24:27
