Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings from Sedhiou, we are
continuously giving thanks for your prayers for the Mandinka
people, the work, and our family. Prayer is the most
important strategy we can use to effectively share Christ
with the Mandinka. Thank you for partnering with us in this
work.
We would like to tell you
about one of our days last week that your prayers helped to
bring about. I wish that I could tell you this was a
“typical” day, but with God anything is possible. About
midmorning several men came from a village that we completed
an evangelism storying cycle. We have also shown the Jesus
film in this village. These men came seeking prayer for
healing for a child and for one of the men who was present.
Later several others came from a different area, seeking
prayer also concerning health. We were thrilled because so
many come seeking monetary help only. Also a tailor, JBT,
came asking for scripture in writing as well as cassettes.
He said that he wanted to read the Bible for himself, and he
wanted the tapes when others came to his home to listen and
discuss together. Finally, MB, a baptized believer, came to
ask for prayer for his work situation. He had been away for
a couple of months seeking work. Please pray for MB to
understand that God is able to meet all of his needs.
Please pray for our
Heavenly Father to hear and answer the prayers that were
lifted up on behalf of these men and their families. Please
pray that through the answered prayers they will come to
know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Please lift up this man, JBT,
who is eager to read God’s Word.
We begin the calendar
focusing on the forgiveness of sin. In one of Charles
Spurgeon’s sermons, he shares that believers should ask God
to forgive someone when we see that person doing something
wrong. He taught this knowing that if the person was not a
believer the only way that God would answer that prayer was
by drawing that person to saving Faith in Jesus. This is
our prayer for the Mandinka.
Let us lift up our voices
in unity asking our Heavenly Father to draw many Mandinka
men and women to saving faith. Pray that MNK believers will
be strong against adversity.
We also want to thank you
for the gifts that you give through the Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering. We are so grateful that we can
concentrate on the task at hand instead of planning ways to
raise funds. It is a blessing for us to serve among the
Mandinka as your representatives.
Your sister in Christ,
