Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings from Sedhiou! It doesn’t feel like Christmas here, but that is not stopping us from enjoying the sound of Christmas music. One of the joys our family has, is being spared some of the commercialization of Christmas. We look forward to the day that the Mandinka will celebrate the birth of our Savior.
We want to thank you for your faithfulness to pray. We would like to share how God has been answering your prayers. We have been lifting up personnel requests. We are excited to tell you that Kimberly Thompson is coming to fill a Journeyman position with our team. Please pray for her as she prepares to go through orientation and come to the field this spring. She is coming to help with evangelism among the Mandinka.
Another answer to prayer is a dream that one of the young men, MF, that you have been praying for had. In his dream he believes that Jesus appeared in his village. He was disturbed by the dream. He and his friends discussed the matter with Richard. This opened the door for teaching from scripture. Questions were asked concerning eternal consequences. No one made any decisions, but please continue to pray for God to open their hearts. Please continue to ask God to send dreams and visions.
We are very excited about a volunteer team coming from Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. They are coming to help us evangelize an area that we are calling the “Blue Jay” area. The MNK name sounds similar to this pronunciation. Please pray for us to meet people of peace in these villages. Pray for the people to have open hearts and courage to step out in faith. Please pray for travel mercies for the volunteer team and protection from the evil one.
We would like to ask you to join us in praying for a stateside prayer advocate. This person would assist our team in communicating the prayer items for the MNK.
Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank you for generously giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Your gifts allow us to live and work among the MNK without the need for multiple trips to the states to raise support. As Christians we are to glorify the Father. We believe with all of our heart that this cooperation of praying, giving, and going to share the Good News brings glory and honor to God. Thank you for your obedience.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the calendar. I am sorry for so many initials. There is a limit to the variety of names in this society. We can be assured that our Heavenly Father knows exactly who those initials stand. We serve an awesome God. In Him,
