Dear
Prayer Partners,
Greeting in the Precious name of our
Lord Jesus Christ! We pray that this letter finds each of
you and your families well. It is truly a privilege to
assist you in praying for the Mandinka People. Thank you
for your faithfulness in this task. Please know that you
are a great encouragement to our team. Please don’t
hesitate to ask if there is anything that I can do to assist
you in this task.
I hope that you received the emails
concerning the volunteer group from
Hunter
Street
Baptist
Church in
Birmingham. They
greeted and prayed for many MNK’s in their homes. They
shared their testimonies and shared the Gospel. Two village
elders said that they had never heard this message before.
They were a light in an area that is a dark stronghold of
Satan. God answered all of the prayer requests that you
lifted up on our behalf. What an awesome God we serve!!!
We now find ourselves saying goodbye to
our friends who have faithfully served amongst the Mandinka
for over twenty years. One of their many gifts has been
communicating the prayer needs of the Mandinka people to you
for many years. Also they have poured many hours into the
MNK transcription program that changes Mandinka language in
Roman script to Arabic script. This enables many Mandinka
who learned Arabic letters as children to be able to read
scripture. He has printed copies of all of the MNK scripture
that has been printed in Roman script.
In
Senegal
we are in the midst of the dry season. The major holiday,
Tobaski, has passed. Most men are doing repairs around
their homes. Most women have finished harvesting the rice.
Some have dry season gardens this time of year. The
temperatures are still relatively cool at night and in the
early mornings. Often men and women are gathered around
TV’s in the late afternoons and early evenings to watch the
national soccer team competing. This is a good time to
begin Chronological Bible Storying groups. Please pray that
we will be able to begin groups where the Gospel was shared
in January when the volunteers from
Hunter Street
in
Birmingham came
to Sedhiou.
Your sister in Christ,
Scripture verses:
Feb. 01-04: Finally, brothers, pray
for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and
be honored, just as it was with you. 2 Thessalonians 3:1
Feb. 05-11: The Lord your God is
with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight
in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice
over you with singing. Zephaniah 3: 17
Feb. 12-18: Then I will go back to my
place until they admit their guilt. And they will seek my
face; in their misery they will earnestly seek me. Hosea
5:15
Feb.19-25: The Lord is my Rock, my
fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take
refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my
stronghold. Psalm 18:2
Feb. 26-28: Ascribe to the Lord the
glory due his name. Bring an offering and come before him;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. 1Ch 16:29
