March  2007 MNK Update

07 Dec 2007

 March 1, 2007

Dear Prayer Partners,

Psalm 28:6 May the Lord be praised, for He has heard the sound of my pleading. What a difference it makes to know that we serve a Holy God who hears our prayers.  I pray that you are well.  We thank you for continuing to pray for the Mandinka people and the Mandinka team.

We want to thank you for praying for the teams that are coming in March. We are making final preparations for a vision team coming from Charleston Baptist Association in Missouri.  They are coming to pray among the Mandinka and seek God’s direction for their ministry. Please continue to lift this team of five to God’s Throne. Please pray for safe travel and good health as they get to know the Mandinka. Please pray for people of peace in the villages that we plan to visit.  Please pray that the Holy Spirit will clearly reveal His Will for Charleston Association and the Mandinka.

We are also looking forward to friends from Grace Baptist in South Carolina who are coming to host a soccer tournament for young boys. They will be prayer walking in the boys’ neighborhoods. We also plan to have some time to share Bible stories with the children.  Please pray that the children will listen and we will have opportunities to follow up with their parents.

The Grace team is also coming to spend some time with our family and the greater Mandinka team in Bible study. This is a wonderful opportunity for our team. Please lift up this time of spiritual rejuvenation.  What a blessing this will be for our family.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be filled. Matthew 5:6.  Richard had visited in a compound across town several times. He told me the ladies there wanted to hear the radio broadcast. So he and I took a tape player and cassette to their home. We listened together and prayed that God would use His Word to open their hearts.  We left the player and this cassette with them.  They were already beginning to listen to the lesson again.  Richard had to stop by the compound a little later, and they were still listening. (PTL!)  Please pray that this family will seek to know God with all of their heart.

Please be in prayer for Senegal and Guinea.  Senegal has just had a presidential election. The results are to be announced at the end of the week. There have been a few minor incidents in the capitol city. Please pray for peace as the official announcement is made. Also Guinea has had some serious struggles.  Several of our families had to leave that country. They are now making plans to return. Please pray for that country to become stable once again and our personnel to be able to return to share the Gospel.

May God richly bless you,
