Dear Prayer Partners,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope(Romans 15:13,ESV).
Greetings from the rainy Casamance! The Casamance is the Senegalese land that is between The Gambia and Guinea Bissau. Initially we have had a slow start to the rainy season, but this past week we have had several downpours. This is an answer to prayer. We are grateful to our heavenly Father who is faithful.
Our family along with our colleagues throughout West Africa just completed a week of worship, fellowship, and training in Dakar, Senegal. These are times that we really understand how important it is to worship in our heart language. All of the children enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting the volunteers who came to minister to them. This was made possible through your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
This past June, we began planning with pastor SD for the MNK gathering. SD and his family are planning to come this month to visit and continue planning for this event. Please lift up this time of planning. We pray that this opportunity to encourage MNK believers will help them in their personal walk with Christ and to be bolder in their witness in their communities.
Kimberly is doing great. Thank you for praying for her language and cultural acquisition. Please pray for her as she begins classes at a local language school to continue preparation for sharing the Gospel in the MNK language. She is diligent in working on relationships which is very important in this society. Pray for opportunities for Kimberly to read scripture and pray for her neighbors.
Please continue to lift the villages including BN, MK, BF, DjT, and S in prayer. Many are working in the fields so please pray that we will continue to have times to teach in each of these villages. Ask God to send dreams and visions revealing Himself to men and women in each of these places.
On a personal note we ask that you lift our family in prayer as we prepare to start the new school year. Our son Alex is a senior this year. Daniel is a junior, and Patrick is in the eighth grade. We will be home schooling, so please pray for the boys to be diligent in their work and have good internet access.
Your Sister in Christ,

Aug. 05-11: Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16: 3, ESV).
Aug. 12-18: The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold (Psalm 18:2).
Aug. 19-25: Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water (John 7:38, ESV).”
Aug. 26-31: The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. (Psalm 33:17, ESV)
