APRIL  2007 MNK Update

07 Dec 2007

April 7. 2007

Dear Prayer Partners,

Matthew 28:6    He is not here, for He was raised, as He said.  Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.   We pray that you have a wonderful celebration to remember the victory over death that Jesus secured for all who believe.  Thank you again for your patience with me this month.

We thank you so much for praying for the volunteers who came during March. We were blessed with a team from Charleston Association in Missouri and another team from Grace Baptist in Florence, SC. Please pray for the follow-up work with the villages BN, BAS, and MK as well as the neighborhoods that participated in the soccer tournament. We are grateful that they were obedient to what God called them to do.

We are looking forward to Kimberly  coming later this month to join the MNK team as a journeyman.  After getting a start in language and cultural learning, she will participate in  evangelizing the MNK.

Please pray for her as she prepares to be away from family for an extended period of time.

Pray for a smooth transition for Kimberly.

Pray that MNK women will see the love of Jesus in Kimberly.

Thank you for your faithfulness to pray for the MNK.

Your sister in Christ,

April 3, 2007

Dear Prayer Partners,

First I want to apologize for being late with the calendar.  We were blessed with many ministry opportunities in March.  Extenuating circumstances prevented me from getting the calendar out on time this month. I trust that you lifted the Mandinka to the Throne of Grace. I have included a short update on the Grace Baptist Volunteer trip and the prayer requests for the first week of April.  Thank you for understanding.

Verse:  Ephesians 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Thank you for praying for the ministry that was carried out by the volunteers from Grace Baptist in Florence, South Carolina. Over sixty boys and their coaches participated in a soccer tournament in Sedhiou. The men worked side by side with young men from Sedhiou to build bleachers for the stadium. This work included digging deep holes to cement the footers for the bleachers. The volunteer team built much more than bleachers. They built friendships that we pray will lead to the young men accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. The ladies prayer walked in the neighborhoods where the boys participating in the soccer tournament live. They also had opportunities to share Bible stories in the compounds. Before and after the Thursday game we also had opportunities to share Bible stories.

The team also ministered to our family and our friends with Navigator's who also work with the Mandinka people.  We had Bible study, prayer, and worship times together.  We also participated in the Lord's Supper together. We have been challenged to ask for greater things, because our Lord "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that".

Your sister in Christ,
